Towpath Shipley to junction with Buck Lane is a little bumpy, but rest of towpath to Leeds is mostly good surface.

Otherwise route follows roads or good surface cycle track.

Starting at the Old Ball roundabout in Horsforth.  See Google maps link here for location.

Flat ride. Start at Costa Coffee which is inside X-gates shopping centre for an optional pre ride warming from 9am. There is a balcony just inside the centre where you can lock the bikes and which is visible whilst imbibing in Costa. Ending at Temple Newsam house tea room for a post ride chat.
