To mark National Clean Air Day, Healthy Air Leeds and Leeds Cycling Campaign will be gathering cyclists to ride round town in rush hour taking some space off cars!
They will be meeting at City Square at 5pm and ending on Briggate at 6pm where Rachel from Healthy Air Leeds will be joining the Clean Air Day event at Bodyshop.
Sunday's ride is the Wonders of Wakefield which is a waymarked cycle route visiting Pugneys lakeside, Newmillerdam, Waterton Park, Nostell Priory, and Walton Nature Reserve. We will be stopping at the cafe at 22 miles at Wintersett. 44 miles. Meeting 9:00 am at City Square.
Starting on the Trans Pennine Trail (nice new tarmac and wavy bridge) but leaving before it gets muddy to pick our way through Normanton and Pontefract to Morrisons (19 miles) for first cafe stop. Then breaking into the countryside to eventually join Sustrans route 62 going north, not quite getting to Selby but having second stop at Brayton Farm Shop (45 miles). Then head for home via Fairburn Ings and Allerton Bywater. A mainly flat ride.
Critical Mass is a monthly bike ride that takes place across the world on the last Friday of every month. In Leeds we meet @ 6pm at Leeds City Museum Steps.
