Intermediate Ride - Memories of Leeds 50 years ago

https://ridewithgps.com/routes/43026143

18 June 1973 was the first time I came to Leeds.  I was working for a Glasgow - based firm of transport consultants who had won a contract to collect origin-destination data throughout West Yorkshire, in connection with the proposed Kirkhamgate to Dishforth motorway.  The purpose of our visit to Leeds was to reconnoitre possible roadside interview sites and to make the first moves regarding employing about 40 university students as temporary staff.

On this ride we will stop at a few places that featured on my first visit (or the actual surveys later the same year), and recall some of the changes that have taken place.
