Easy Riders / Easy Riders Plus!

"Easy Riders" is our ride aimed at beginners and those returning to cycling happens every Saturday at 10.15am.  Everybody who feels like a short, steady, friendly ride on quiet streets or cycle paths is welcome though.  We start from Rounday Park in Leeds, ride at the pace of the slowest rider for a maximum of 15 miles - no-one is left behind, and there's a café stop either in the middle or at the end.

NEW!  - "Easy Riders Plus!" is our ride for those who would like to go a little further and (just a little) faster.  It will be about 25 miles which will enable us to go to a wider range of places.  It will be on the first Saturday of every month, see the website Rides Calendar for more details.

The meeting point is the main car park (former tram terminus for Roundhay Park), at the junction of Prince’s Avenue and Lidgett Park Road (near main park gates/skate park).

People gather from 10:15 and we start riding at 10:30.  Allow a couple of hours for a gentle, social ride, with a cafe stop either about half way round the ride or at the end.

For more information have a look at the rides calendar, or contact the easy rides coordinator at easyrides@leedscyclingcampaign.co.uk.

Non-members are welcome to join in a couple of rides initially, but it's important for our insurance that most riders are paid-up members, please talk to your ride leader about joining Leeds Cycling Campaign, or join online here.

For a flavour of our easy rides, have a browse through some photos (thanks to Steve Jones for these):

Roundhay Park to Shadwell, Whinmoor, Thorner – 14 miles

Roundhay Park to Wyebeck Valley & Temple Newsam Park – 12 miles

Easy Ride to Meanwood (Wheels 4 Fun)

Today's Easy Ride led by Gerri will go to Meanwood Valley Urban Farm to link in the the Wheels 4 Fun event (see the LCC Wheels for Fun page -  http://leedscyclingcampaign.co.uk/wheels-4-fun- for more details).

There will be tea/coffee and cake on offer (please give a donation) and you will have the opportunity to try a tandem, tricyle and other interesting ways to move about!

This event is strongly supported the Leeds Cycling Campaign, and you can have the opportunity to volunteer to help this worthy cause.

Easy Ride [to be confirmed]

Today Gerri will lead the Easy Ride Plus! to Braham and back which will be about 22 miles.

We like to have a usual Easy Ride on the same day as the Easy Ride Plus! but unfortunately haven't been able to find a second leader for today.  We may be able to find one at short notice, but otherwise riders will have the choice of going on a slightly longer route to Bramham with Gerri today.  There will be a café stop half way round as usual and the group will be as calm and friendly as ever.

Everyone welcome!

Easy Ride Plus!

Since we have only one leader available today, Robin will lead a combined Easy Ride/Easy Ride Plus! ride of about 20 miles.

The ride will go to Wetherby and Thorner, stopping off at a nice cafe for refreshments.

Everyone welcome!

Easy Ride Plus!

John M will lead the Easy Ride Plus! to Lotherton Hall.

On the first Saturday of the month we give an option of the usual Easy Ride and also the Easy Ride Plus! which goes just a little bit further, take your pick!

Everyone welcome!
